Eligibility Of FBM Scholarship in IIT Kanpur
- Only SC/ST student categories are eligible for FBM Scholarship.
- The student should be studying at IIT Kanpur.
- The current program of the students should be a 4 or 5-year UG / 2-year M.Sc.
- Annual Family of the students from all resources should be less than 4.5 lahks.
- The students who are applying for this scholarship should not get any scholarship from either IIT Kanpur or out of IIT Kanpur.
- Students with any punishment or disciplinary action by Senate/ SSAC of any level will not be eligible for FBM Scholarship.
Benefits of the FBM Scholarship in IIT Kanpur
Selected SC/ST students from applications will get two benefits from this scholarship.
- After getting their name on the list of FBM Scholarships, students do need not to pay 10000(depending on the hall mess) for food annually. In other words, we can say basic Mess food will be free. Although If students want to eat some extra foods that are out of the Basic mess menu, then he/she has to take coupons for that food. In the case of Medical if students need some special food then students should also be required to pay the fee by coupon.
- In addition to free basic mess students also get INR 2,500 annually.
Documents required for FBM Scholarship in IIT Kanpur
- FBM Application Form which is available on the official website of IIT Kanpur (link is given below).
- The application Form link is also available on the IIT Kanpur Webmail. The scholarship will be notified in the institute’s e-mail ID.
- Copy of Family Income Certificate that can be ITR-Vs or Form-16 or Certificate issued from state/central governmental authority.
- Note: Notarized documents for income proof will not be acceptable.

- To Apply for FBM Scholarship, you have to fill out an application form which is available on the IIT Kanpur website.
- The application form link is given on the website but to get a link you have to go to the archived section.
- Click on the Archived section, you will get a different – different important links.
- Just click on the Application form.
- Fill in the asked details and submit it at the SSPC Office.

No, Selected scholars will only get one scholarship at a time.
Can I apply for another Scholarship with FBM Scholarship?
Yes, You can apply for multiple scholarships whether scholarships from IIT Kanpur or Scholarships out of campus. But, you will get only a scholarship if you are selected for multiple scholarships, this will be the choice that you want to get.
Can other students other than students of IIT Kanpur apply?
No, Only the students belonging to IIT Kanpur will be eligible for FBM Scholarship.
